I’ve previously owned pur and brita water filtration systems. both were able to eliminate the chlorinated flavor from the water and leave it tasting like bottled water. this one however replaces the chlorine taste with a plastic taste. after a month of use we gave up on it and just ordered delivered bottled water.

Since you will also have to buy filter replacement cartridges from Crystal Quest for the life of the product, consider my review before buying.

Given the choice, I would not buy a Crystal Quest product again. This is due to the fact their Customer Service is terrible! (So is their Shipping Dep’t and Quality control in my case – kind of scary!) I bought a similar product from them and it was missing parts. I called them and what followed is my worst customer service experience ever. They continuously reneged on promises made to me (several times), giving excuses when I called in (and I had to follow up myself EVERY time) such as “I asked so and so to call you” or “I was overruled by another dep’t”.

I am not alone – read other reviews for Crystal Quest products.

UPDATE: I ordered a water testing kit online to test the floride, chlorine, etc content of the undersink water filtering kit and cartridge I had received. Multiple tests (even at super low flow rates) revealed it DID NOT FILTER CHLORINE! (It left .25-.50 ppm of chlorine – the same as our tap water results.) Tests on my Brita filter DID filter all chlorine. So, I called customer service to explain and they kindly mailed me another filter – same result! I have sent back everything for a refund, since it does not work as intended. Who monitors these water filtering companies? I will be ordering now from a (hopefully) real water filtering company. I hope I have saved someone else the trouble of having to installing this product only to have to return it.

I had a CQ faucet mount filter for over a year, the water has a nice clean taste and the system is sturdier than the flimsy Pur one I had before. The problem I had with it was that the rubber gasket would pop out sometimes and squirt water everywhere and the knob got loose and dribbled water after a while.

I had to order one again recently when my wife hit it with a pot by accident and the nozzle broke off. I am pleased to say that the company fixed the gasket issue by putting a protective lip over the edge so it cannot push out and the knob seems more sturdy (time will tell I guess).

All in all we are very happy with it.

P.S. the filters don’t seem to last as long as they claim, probably half that but it’s still longer than other brands so I’m ok with it.

I purchased 2 water filters for work from them for over $1000, the water came out yellow so I returned them and they are charging me for shipping and 30% restocking fee. My refund was only $445. I am a “kill them w/ kindness” type of person and the “customer service” representatives are rude and a nightmare to deal with. A $600 lesson for myself that I wouln’t want anyone else to endure, please choose another company if you can!

I used this faucet mount before. I said it did a decent job if you have OK city water, and just want some extra protection. If you’re in old homes with old iorn pipes or very bad water sources, forget it. Faucet mount or pitcher filters are mostly made of granulated activated carbon, it’s OK to remove cyst, but it doesn’t do much in removing salts and metals.

I have moved onto reverse osmosis already. Good luck, guys.

I must have gotten a bad one as it made the water taste so bitter I had to take it off to get water I could drink. i called the seller and they were so nice and thanked me for the feedback. i then called Quest and told them my problem and the sold me 2 more filters for $19.00 but said they had to be custom made. I hope the new ones work better as no other filter has ever made the water taste worse. Even the cheapest did not do that.

No other filter claims to do 2000 gals. like quest so I hope the new filters work as they are cheaper and say they clean 4 times more water than any other facet filter. I’ll make a follow up comment if the new filters work. It’s the best deal but so far the worst deal for me.

Gteat filter. Bought it in white. Installed in minutes. Comes with two faucet thread adapters. Tastes as good if not beter than water from my brita pitcher and much more conveinent. Removes many more contaminents that competing brands and filter is supposed to last six months.

It’s the best water filter I’ve found yet. The filter’s large, so it took nearly 30 minutes of running water through it before the odd smell and taste disappeared, but it’s now delivering very pure water.

We have been using this filter for the last one month. The water tasted bad from day 1. Initially we thought the water here at Camden NJ was that bad that it just cannot be filtered right. Today we brought a pur pitcher filter and i can say it is amazing. I realized its not the water which is crappy but it is this filter which we were using. I had to deal with the bad taste and also got a sore throat.

And i am sure even the manufacturers know that their filters dont work that is why they dont have a feasible return policy either. You can only return product which is unused and that too within 30days. If you have used it , you cannot return the filter. Yes..you cannot return. That simply means you are stuck with this junk .

Please dont waste your money on it, try pur or brita and i am sure it will do the job.

I am very disappointed with the company and its product.

Assuming that the filter cartridge works as advertised, I rate this a superior product (with caveats).

I have used other name brand faucet filters such as Culligan and PUR, and they were okay, but this one seems to have a more sturdy build, especially for the price. In addition, the flow rate is much better. With the others, it took over two minutes to fill a one-gallon jug; with this, about 35 seconds.

It also pivots out of the way with ease, whereas the others have an annoying friction, probably due to o-ring seals.

Yet, the CrystalQuest doesn’t leak (after four months’ use). It remains to be seen whether or not it will develop leaks; the others did after about a year of use. I suspect this one is less susceptible to leaks, due to its flow rate, which indicates much less back pressure.

Caveats: although the filter is highly rated, it does seem I get more of a chlorine taste than I did with my previous buys. And also, when I bought it, the filter cartridges were rated for a year/2000 gallons (much better than the others, typically 3 months/200 gallons), yet my warranty says void if the cartridge is used for more than six months.

Huh? Shouldn’t the system be warranted for as long as the cartridge?

Anyway, for the price, I rate it better than the others I have used, and the price is right. The replacement cartridges are also more reasonably- priced than the bigger name brands.

I used the PUR version for about 2 years. Filter cartridge needed frequent replacement (about every 6 weeks) and was expensive. Tried DUPONT version for a few months. Filters were cheaper but only lasted about 3 weeks. Water flow with both brands was slooow. Found CRYSTAL QUEST on line. Ordered it. First 2 were defective but CQ was very nice and shipped replacements quickly. I have now had it for 7 months. We like it. It was a tremendous improvement over our first two. Replaced first filter about a month ago. Water flow is a great improvement over the prior 2 brands. Now we are updating our kitchen and we are upgrading to a under sink CRYSTAL QUEST water filter system.

I had to give it a try. My water was bitter even after filtered (Brita or Pur). I am located near Cambridge, MA. Plenty of old homes with “God only knows” what types of water pipes. Good News is: My water taste has improved with this filter. It is easy to put on and use. Bad News: Unfortunately, it will not last 6 months. More like 2 months and then needs to be replaced. It is very expensive to live and drink in NE. I am now researching whole house filters.
